Mucho Relaxo

Sharpthorne, England
Tuesday, May 22, 2012

I've spent the last two days with my very very good friend's Ruth and Rick and their delightful darling girls Poppy and Hannah. It is so nice to get a dose of "little girl hugs" - an adequate substitute for a BOSS hug.

They live in this stunning cottage with their own field and woodlands and deer. If you've ever read The Railway Children by Edith Nesbit, it is exactly like that! There is a steam train that runs along the bottom of their property and blows it's whistle when passing. The sound instantly transports you back 40 years to your childhood.

They have also acquired a dog called Sarah who is so smart and energetic. I miss having a dog so I have been playing ball with Sarah non stop. She's only a puppy so I have been teaching her to actually give the ball back to me so I don't have to go tramping all over the field chasing her.

Is this so that you can catch more dead flies in your teeth? Wouldn't travel without a screen personally - the custard flies will get you! From Kate Pegler, on Jun 1, 2012 at 07:43AM
